Let's Make Healthy Teen Sleep a Reality in California!

Thanks to our dedicated nationwide grassroots coalition, California just became the first state in the nation to enact healthy and developmentally appropriate school start times for most middle and high schools, with full implementation slated to begin in the 2022-23 school year.

To help communities maximize this unprecedented opportunity, we’ve teamed up with the Sleep Matters Initiative at Brigham and Women’s Hospital to launch Let’s Sleep! CA.  Even better, for a short time all donations will be matched dollar-for-dollar!

The matching grant covers the core of Let’s Sleep! CA, a multifaceted initiative that will support community-wide efforts to teach, support, and encourage healthy sleep. This core includes a one-stop web-based sleep education resource for students and their families, educators, administrators, and community members that delivers engaging, interactive, evidence-based sleep education content to students, families, and school communities.

This resource builds on our proven success with Sleep 101, an award-winning online, interactive sleep education program for high schoolers and college students. The University of California-Los Angeles, Harvard College, Middlebury College, and a consortium of STEM high schools are just some of the schools already using Sleep 101.

Let’s Sleep! CA…will affect not only the public health of the state’s 6 million school children, but the nation’s children as well. The eyes of the nation – and even the world – are on California.
